As of October 2022, the UK parliament voted and approved that by 2024 all mobile phones, tablets and cameras sold within the EU will have to be equipped with a USB Type-C charging port. From 2026 this obligation will extend to all laptops. Within the telecommunications industry, this is a huge step forward for all UC products to universalise how we connect and reduce the E-waste between products. But what does this really mean for consumers and industry having to move to the new standard? There are some disadvantages to moving over to USB-C as a standard:
